But it's unusual to find ourselves overloaded on information, but short on insight. This is why I regularly contribute to international and local media like Bloomberg, South China Morning Post, Reuters and Lianhe Zaobao. I believe more insight will benefit more people. But you wouldn’t have guessed it from the media interviews that earlier in my corporate career, I was retrenched twice! In between that, I had leukaemia while I was still in my early 30s. Over a span of six short years, I went through three major life crisis. These were personal challenges, but also financial challenges. The second lay-off came right after I had bought a new house! Imagine the pressure and stress! These experiences highlighted to me the importance of making right financial decisions. These experiences also shaped how I do real estate and the values that guide my work. This is because I believe a real estate decision is a financial decision. I believe, a property is a mean to an end. a property is for people, not the other way around. a property is both a home & an investment. Regardless you make a right or wrong financial decision, it takes years to bear fruit. The only (critical) difference is that an unwise financial decision is hard to reverse. This is why my work is not to help people buy and sell properties. My work is to help people make right decisions. I make it my aim to serve people this way, because with the right decisions, people can create their own dreams.
