Located in the centre of the Bedok HDB Estate of the Bedok Township, Chai Chee Street is home to a number of HDB development. Bedok HDB itself houses about 200k residents spread across the 62k HDB flats as per the March 2018 census. The town was named after the Malay word 'bedoh', a type of slit drum used for calling the common people to attend prayers at the mosque. Planned since the 1960s, Bedok has finally evolved as one off the prominent HDB towns in Singapore, which brings forth a combination of the urban lifestyle as well as the serenity of a natural surroundings, the reason being that Bedok is a coastal region with beautiful natural surroundings.
