Singapore’s largest healthcare complex will soon rise in Novena, according to media reports.
Called “Health City Novena”, the 17ha hub will connect public and volunteer healthcare facilities with a medical school.
To be completed in 2030, the complex will comprise five new facilities such as the National Centre for Infectious Disease, an expanded National Skin Centre, a new building for intermediate care next to Ren Ci Hospital, a new ambulatory expansion for Tan Tock Seng Hospital and a future national centre, revealed Health Minister Gan Kim Yong.
The total built-up area will rise from 250,000 sq m to 600,000 sq m. Bed capacity will also grow by 25 percent to over 2,200 beds, with step-down care accounting for much of the increase.
The ambitious project will see 10 buildings, including Tan Tock Seng Hospital being linked, while the remaining three will be left alone as they are heritage buildings.
