My girlfriend and I are both Singaporeans. She bought a DBSS flat as a single at the age of 35 in June 2023, and I also bought a resale condominium in July 2024 individually. If we get married, can we continue to maintain our properties individually?

HDB will review the household situation.

Because:

She bought as a single scheme applicant

After marriage, she is no longer a single household

HDB’s position generally is:

If the spouse owns another property, you may be required to:

Dispose of the private property, OR

Dispose of the HDB flat

HDB does not freely allow a married couple to keep:

1 HDB + 1 private property during MOP

This is not automatic confiscation — but you will need HDB’s approval.
