My boyfriend owns a HDB under his name and I have plans to get a condominium under my own name. However, we are considering getting married. Under such circumstances, does it mean that he has to give up his HDB? Would there be any difference if the purchase of condominium was done before or after ROM?

Hi

If under your own name for private condominium, exclude your boyfriend name, there is no issue. the consideration is you need to look into the bank loan and TDSR.

Hi,

As long as you purchase the condo under your sole name, then there isn't any issue. Your boyfriend can continue to hold his HDB while you can own a condo under your own name.

Please feel free to contact me so that I can understand your situation and objectives better and provide you with further assistance!

Good morning buyer,

Not to worry. You can proceed to purchase a private property under your SOLE name, there wont be any restriction before or after ROM.

Do take note if you decide to purchase with him, the cooling measures will be subject to both of you.

1) loan will not be maximised if theres an outstanding loan in his HDB

2) will be subject to additional buyer's stamp duty

3) he will have to set aside basic retirement sum in your CPF OA +SA first before utilising the excess CPF OA funds in purchase.

But care to share your intention of getting a condo under your name?

Perhaps we can meet up to discuss and explore your options as a married couple on how to grow wealth via assets and build a property portfolio that will benefit both of you over the years.

Hear from you soon!

Good day Madam,

As per your plans , NO PROBLEM you can buy your condo regardless before or after ROM , subject to your husband has fullfilled his hdb MOP minimum occupation period at that point in time when you buy a condo on your own , though as a wife status , not single .

I am not sure will you be implicated if your husband has not fulfilled his hdb MOP , best if you call and email hdb to double check before you make your property shopping decisions.

Kindly contact me Joanne chia Hp 8333 3327  for a no obligations chat for your property needs.

No commission chargeable when i serve you to buy a condo .

The seller or developer will pay me commission.

On a separate note , your boy friend or husband cannot help you In the bank loan for the condo unless his name is in the condo too .

Thank you .
