I understand the Fair Trade Agreements between Singapore and several other countries means that their citzens do not have to pay the foreigner stamp duties. Under the FTA are they not also on equal footings as Singaporeans with regard for ownership of landed property? If the answer is that foreign ownership restrictions still apply, can you explain how this can exist under FTA?

FTA applies to business... Not ownership of properties. By the way, certain countries with Free Trade agreement, their citizens are given same treatment as Singaporeans in terms of ABSD.... Maybe the Ministry of Foreign affairs can give you a more complete picture.. Read More
