Hi,
We are a SPR and intend to sell our HDB and buy a condo. I read that there has been some revisions to the ABSD from 12-Jan-2013. My question is how much is the stamp duty that I need to pay
a) For selling the HDB ?
b) For purchasing a resale condo ( BSD + ABSD ??)

Afternoon,

You need to fulfill your MOP before you are eligible to sell it in the open market. As for selling of HDB unit, there's no stamp duty payable. As for the purchase of private property, you will be affected by the new ruling. Standard BSD and ABSD of 5% will be applicable.

Hi JM,

If you are eligible (fulfill the applicable or 5 years MOP) to sell off your HDB, there's no seller's stamp duty applicable.

While due to the new cooling measures, PR couple is subject to 5% ABSD on top of the normal BSD [(3% x purchase price) -$5400].
