Let me answer in reverse order your questions. There will be an ABSD payable as both of you are SPR. The rate is 5% for the 1st property.

The rule for the purchase of a Resale HDB is that you must not own any other property locally or overseas. You will be required to sell within 6 months.

However, there is the exception to the rule which will require HDB approval.

Hi,

You are eligible to purchase a HDB resale flat only if both Husband and Wife has been SPR for at least 3 years.

You will also be required to dispose off all interests in residential properties (local and overseas) latest within 6 months of the HDB flat purchase.

If your overseas property is not meant for investment purpose, you could appeal to HDB for a waiver.

ABSD for SPR first property is 5%. This is on top of the normal BSD (3-4%).
