Hi Gurus

I am just wondering if there can be joint ownership of a landed property between a non married Singaporean and a Singapore PR.

The two are actually siblings. Reason being that they might be inheriting a landed property and have the intention of renting the house out in future.

From what i understand, certain PRs with significant economic contribution to Singapore can get exemption for landed property ownership but the approved property must only be owner occupied.

Would appreciating if anyone has any practical experience can share the answer with me.

Thank you

Hi Reggie,

Only Singaporeans are allowed to own landed properties. Nevertheless, the only landed properties which foreigners and PRs can own are those from Sentosa Cove.

Should the possible inherited property is outside Sentosa Cove, Non-Singaporeans (including PRs), need to write in to Singapore Land Authority (Land Dealings (Approval) Unit) and they will review it on case by case basis.

Should you require any assistance, please feel free to contact me.
