2 months ago me and my wife signed 2 year lease on a converted shophouse.. We got our first electrical bill and it was double (x2 of reading of meter)of we used to pay at our previous house we have all the same appliances. And use everything same way...
What we found out all aircons are 415 3 phase that requires more 140w input for house. (SP services) We were not told this by agent or owner during negotiation's of lease.. of extra costs for running house... Agent is not helpful saying they didn't know about it..even though they have managed house for the past 3 years...
What can we do ? Re negotiate the lease ?

Dear John,

I am afraid that the agent who has assisted in brokering this rental is not in a position to make changes to anything like this. As the terms and conditions have already been agreed upon and tenancy signed, you may wish to contact the landlord and speak to the landlord on this issue and see if all parties can work something out?
