Approachable, honest and knowledgeable, Associate Group Director Rachel Tan is a force to be reckoned with in the real estate sales industry.
Having joined real estate in September 2009, Rachel has honed her skills and put her hard-earned marketing degree to good use. She serves both investors and homeowners mainly in the private property market of District 16, Singapore’s Upper East Coast, but is also a competent hand at HDBs, and commercial and industrial properties, whether it’s in their sale or rental.
Background
From a teacher, to the law firm, and then to a multi-national corporation (MNC), Rachel has held posts of respect, responsibility, and importance all her life. As an executive assistant in the MNC for close to a decade, she has seen the world in her travels as she was placed in the different regional branches to understand, assess and improve the systems that were in place.
After a short break of 2 years from the corporate world to care for her family, Rachel chose to enter the real estate industry for the flexibility and the control that she would have in her hands.
Putting her marketing degree to full use in real estate sales, Rachel joined the Powerful Negotiators in September 2009.
Experience
With a theoretical background in sales, Rachel’s career took off from the very first month in the real estate industry.
“I didn’t have any difficulty when I first joined,” Rachel recalls, “It was quite smooth and the pick-up was quite fast.”
Closing multiple deals by immediately using the skills she had learnt from the training programmes, Rachel knows that she has chosen the right industry, and the right team.
Focus
With more than 5 years in the industry, Rachel has taken on District 16 with much success.
In the Upper East Coast, from Bayshore to Bedok to Chai Chee, her strongest expertise lies in the Bedok Court condominium, as she has transacted more than 30 units in the property.
“I know the property so well that clients think I live there!” she says with a smile.
But as a professional Real Estate Salesperson, Rachel does more than just the sales and rentals of Bedok Court. She has seen her clients of investors and homeowners through HDBs, as well as commercial and industrial property transactions in other areas.
“I work on the finances, on restructuring, timeline management… Investors have also given me their financial portfolios to manage.”
Her approachability and direct honesty in assessing the match between her clients and potential properties make her a valuable partner in anyone’s real estate journey, and the large number of clients who are referred to her on a monthly basis is an easy yardstick of her success.
