Country winners on the cusp of regional triumph at 15th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final

BANGKOK, Thailand – 10 November 2020 

PropertyGuru, Southeast Asia’s leading property technology company, announced today the shortlist of nominees selected to advance to the milestone 15th edition and first virtual edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final on Friday, 4 December.

Around 88 companies, representing winning developers and projects in the 2020 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series, have been chosen to vie for 35 categories at the Grand Final that will elevate them to the title of “Best in Asia”.

Indonesia dominates this year’s shortlist of nominees, with almost 30 country winners in competition at the Grand Final, followed by Mainland China, Singapore, and Thailand, with almost 20 winners representing each country.

All nominees were culled from a list of real estate developers and property developments that garnered trophies over the course of the 2020 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series, which has been held as a mix of virtual and physical gala events across Asia Pacific.

The 15th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final will be broadcast live online as a virtual gala event and awards ceremony via AsiaPropertyAwards.com and partner channels YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Over the past few months, the 2020 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series has presented more than 300 trophies to outstanding developers and developments across Southeast Asia as well as the emerging and established markets of Australia; mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau; India; and Greater Niseko (Japan).  

This year, companies from these countries will vie for well-established Developer categories such as Best Developer (Asia) and Best Boutique Developer (Asia) as well as several categories that have never been presented before at the Grand Final, including Best Mixed Use Developer (Asia); Best Industrial Developer (Asia); Best Lifestyle Developer (Asia); Best Sustainable Developer (Asia); Best Commercial Developer (Asia); and Best Breakthrough Developer (Asia). 

The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final also features the presentation of the annual PropertyGuru Icon Award, which will be awarded this year to Thippaporn Ahriyavraromp, chairperson of the board of directors at Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited in Thailand. In 2012, Thippaporn Ahriyavraromp was named Thailand Real Estate Personality of the Year – the first woman to receive the title.

The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards were established in Thailand in 2005 to distinguish the top properties and development firms in Southeast Asia. The awards programme has since expanded to honour the finest properties and development firms in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau; Australia; South Asia (India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives); and Japan (Greater Niseko) – celebrating 15 years of rewarding excellence in real estate in 2020.

The 15th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final serves as the culmination of the 2020 PropertyGuru Week, which begins with the first virtual edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau) on Wednesday, 3 December. It continues with the sixth edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit, which will be held on Thursday, 4 December as a virtual gathering of the real estate and proptech industry’s finest minds, top-level business leaders, and decision-makers.

The virtual format of the awards has been an engaging, immersive, interactive way to celebrate exemplary developers and projects across the region and extend their market reach.
