Garbage Issue
Posted by Prospect on May 9, 2017
May I ask what's the situation now in 2017, has the problem with garbage collection been solved at The Coast? Does it affect all the blocks/stacks?
Thank you,
Prospect for The Coast

Shangri La in Sentosa Cove

I noticed of bad reviews for those unfortunate stacks that face the garbage dump. For those who love the paradise resort living, choose those premium stacks and units where you get full privacy, best sea views and waterway view; away from main road and direct access to swimming pool! Best location is ground floor at Stack 276. So, choose your resort home and enjoy daily holidays at The Coast !

The Coast At Sentosa Cove

The 249 unit condo is developed by Ho Bee Group and most if not all units boast unblocked beautiful views of the sea. Very nice finishings. Nice balcony to die for as well. Personally, I like the layout of the apartment. Only wish that the common room can be slightly bigger

A really nice place
Posted by Jeff on Feb 11, 2013
You may come upon reviews that talk about garbage truck issues here... It is most likely true... But it also affects only a few stacks where the rear of the units affected face the waste pick up site... Rent and purchase price is also much cheaper there than the rest of the condo, where this problem does not exist.
Having said that, one can argue that if you are buying a condo worth 3-5mio, you should not face any garbage site. But then again, the choice was there from the beginning as the site is not a hidden secret...
Anyways, to most of the residents, this would not be a problem. Nonetheless, the condo management should strive to help fix the reported issue. They have been very helpful on many other issues I experienced.
Overall, living in this place is like resort living that is so unlike CBD or city living, yet you are only 10 mins drive away from one of the largest shopping malls, or 20mins away from Raffles Place/MBS, or 20mins from East Coast via highway...
It will make for a great experience for folks who like living by the sea. The Coast is the only condo in the area where each unit faces the sea+pool view and the rear faces the marina view leading to a yacht club. (Except for the few units whose rear is the garbage pick up site)
Big balconies where you can dine...
Private lifts... Well lit and spacious parking... Nice pools and facilities...
Walking paths in the area are fantastic... A nightly 5km walk will never be boring whichever path you take.
Walk to Quayside Isle/W Hotel and enjoy the F&B... Buy your meds from Guardian nearby, emergency supplies from 7-11, or groceries from Cold Storage...all walking distance!
One can take free shuttle (20-30mins ride incl stops) to HarbourFront /VivoCity which connects to the MRT... But I have to admit, this is a place best for people who have cars.
Many have said this is the best condo on the North Cove.... It really is... Just see it to believe it.

Garbage Above Human Lives
Posted by Swedish Engineer on Sep 27, 2011
The Coast management treat their own residents and neighbours below the value of their garbage. To save cost, the Coast's garbage collection system uses an obscure truck suction mechanis. The offensive truck produces three levels of pollution one expects a third world slums. For three to five hours a day, it produces excessive black smoke, excessive aging machine pump (up and down like about to fall apart sort) and force shocking level of pollution onto some The Coast residents and the Oceanfront condo residents next door. The Coast residents and committees are now Sentosa Cove's no.1 sociopath neighbours, their management continues to act dumb and impotent. It is shocking in the prime estate of a first world garden city, this kind of blatant violation of human sanity, anti-social, beggar thy neighbour behavior is allowed to continue despite multiple complaints to environment agencies and Cove management level. Expats and human beings, including infants and adults with night shift are being treated with less importance than garbage's rights to generate pollution in wide radius.

Midnight & Weekend Sewage Truck Noise
Posted by The Coast Resident on Sep 20, 2010
We moved in few months ago. My wife now complains about the horrendous noise of the sewage truck which comes everyday, park itself in the middle of the street and proceed to generate the ugliest sound ever sometimes up to 5 HOURS. Occasionally the dreadful truck will even come in the middle of the NIGHT and haunt you in your sleep.
If the residents can't do basic things like, say, SLEEPING IN PEACE or ENJOYING THE OUTDOOR on a WEEKEND, what is the use of paying for the manicured outdoors?
The Sentosa Cove Management is acting like some obnoxious PRISON WARDERS towards the condo residents.
We will leave as soon as we find a way out of this noise hell of a "resort lifestyle condo" with terrible, uncaring management.
Please don't fall into this stressful expat trap like we have.
