Too noisy !!

Posted by Flyer on May 16, 2012

Having staying here for 1 year and I totally agreed with some of the reviews here,is just too noisy to stay!

Pros-
It is very near the MRT, good location.

Cons-
The units facing MRT, is too noisy, you don't need an alarm clock to wake you up at 5:50am every morning when the 1st train reach the station and you can only sleep peacefully at 12 midnight after the last train passed.

Even the units facing inside is still a bit noisy.
I recommend this building for: City Living.

Noisy and low class quality

Posted by John Longdale on Aug 5, 2011

Units facing MRT are very noisy, even at highest floors, and units materials are quite low quality, below average compared to most condos in the 1,000 - 1,500 psf range. Facilities are ok but it's far from restaurants and supermarket. There are much better choices at this price.

extremely noisy

Posted by sg on Jun 30, 2011

am a regular visitor here.

condos that are next to above ground train stations or mrt tracks don't deserve any premium at all, in fact they should sell at discounts . imagine trying to sleep past 6 am in the morning and the train wakes you up every single day without fail.. life is stressful enough and to cap it all , condos near mrts like metropolitan have to put up with lack of sleep.

double glazed windows dont work. not livable.

Just too noisy!

Posted by Sherry Wang on Jun 26, 2010

The MRT noise is just unbearably loud. I want to get out of the place as soon as my lease ends. Yes, it's new and has full condo facilities. But, considering this, the MRT runs 6:00 am -24:00 pm. If you want to have good night sleep, you practically only have 6 hrs, 24:00am-6:00am. That is just too few. Also, there is no supermarket nearby. It takes you 15 minutes to go to the closest NTUC unless you take MRT to Tiong Bahru to shop there. The rent is definitely too high for such a noisy place. With that budget, you can easily get a better place in a better area!!!

too high price

Posted by living nearby on Oct 25, 2009

i personally feel this property is over-priced be it buying or renting. this is not really a quiet and peaceful enviroment so why pay such high price whereby we could get many other better location with lesser $

not impress by price

Posted by Pat on Oct 19, 2009

would be a good investment if it was not flipped so many times. this will be one of those development where 70% are rented out. when i was there, there was only 40% occupants despite being all sold out...seem difficult to rent out at the asking price i heard.

Ideal Investment

Posted by Scout team on Oct 12, 2009

I have being in scouting Metropolitan for the last few weeks and will like to voice some comments.
This project is just TOP in Jun '09( it's new)
Yes, there is sound from the MRT, is noticable but bearable.
It do have excellent view of city, sea and Greenery and unblock hill view from Bukit Timah (don't find this view often in Singapore).
MRT station is just less than 50m away from the sidegate.
Coffee shops and market are in the void deck of HDBs and are walking distance.
Very good investment for rental as cause i can't get a unit for rent now (2 bedrooms).

The price now is consider reasonable for Metropolitan compare to the Ascentia Sky, which is next door is really SKY....... high price.

I find it's a ideal investment.

Fantastic Metropolitan!!

Posted by Mark Lim on Jul 21, 2009

The close proximity to the Redhill MRT station is it's main weakness, but also it's main selling point.

Amenities are plentiful in the nearby redhill market & tiong bahru plaza. It is also a short distance from Dawson & Anchorage, not to mention a 5 mins drive from Orchard Road.

Good

Posted by Condo Hunter on Jun 26, 2009

Just visited my friend's new condo at Metropolitan (recently TOP in early Jun '09). His unit is on the high floor, surprisingly, the sound of the MRT is noticable but bearabe.
Excellent view of city area, hdb flats, sea (yes!!!) and bukit timah hill.
MRT station is just a few steps away from the sidegate. Just 3 stations away from Tanjong Pagar (where I work).
Very good investment for rental as well as own stay.
Now I am so tempted to buy one unit myself.

2 Bedrooms Unit with One Bathroom

Posted by topace on Jan 23, 2009

From the floorplan there are 2 entry to the bathroom. One can be accessed from outside and the other inside the master bedroom. There should still have some privacy thou I still prefer 2 bathrooms.

The location is indeed superb. Only downside is that the mrt is not underground so some MRT noise cannot be avoided. Probably have to live in high floors to offset the noise.

Wonder when will it completed in 2009 as I am interested to get a unit there. Still feel the asking price of $750psf is too high as east coast freehold projects like esta and one amber are asking $800psf.

What should be the asking price going forward to 2Q 2009?

Only One Bathroom?

Posted by Melvin Lin on Jan 23, 2009

I have noticed that for the two-bedroom units there is only one bathroom in the entire unit. I am wondering if this is practical if there are 3-4 people living in the same apartment. It seems the people must draw rosters for their turns to use the washroom, or go to the swimming pool's common bathroom if they can't wait.

I think the part that I am most unable to fathom is that for the floor plans I have seen, the sole bathroom in the unit is INSIDE the master bedroom. That seems to imply that the master bedroom door has to remain open at all times for the other people in the other bedroom to use the toilet.

I guess the 2-bedroom units are only suitable for couples without kids/parents/maid living with them, when the other room is meant as a study or some other use, with nobody sleeping in the bedroom.

It is a pity, as the other reviewers have rightly pointed out that this development is in a very convenient location, despite Redhill's reputation as a "rougher" and "more complicated" neighbourhood. However I think the configuration within the unit has put me off purchasing a unit here.

Fantastic Location

Posted by Love Singapore on Oct 27, 2008

This condo is next to Redhill MRT, very convenient for family with school-aged children. As more MRT stations open, and more expensive to drive, MRT has immennse and increase value over the time. Built by Japanese Contractor by Top Singapore developer, this will be a new landmark in Tanglin Area.
