Foreigners staying in Singapore may have difficulty in trying to find the right condo to rent. Here are some tips you can use when choosing the right condo. In the end, it boils down to your needs which will affect your budget, location, and the facilities and amenities.

Budget – This is probably the most important consideration, especially if you are paying rent out of your own pocket. Your budget often will work hand in hand with the location of the condo and your needs. For example, if you have US$2,000 to spend for monthly rental, you can easily rent a 3-room condo in the mid-range market or a smaller unit in the city area. When setting a budget, try to set a range instead of a fixed amount.

Location – Location is important especially if you want to be close to your workplace or certain facilities. If you work in the city, you may want to find a condo in Districts 1 – 8. If you want to be close to shopping districts, then a condo in District 9 – 11 may just be what you are looking for as the condos here are close to the Orchard Road shopping belt.

Facilities and amenities – The facilities and amenities will largely depend on your needs. If you are staying for business purposes, you may want to go for high-end condos that provide concierge services. If you are an active person, you may want to go for condos that have fully-equipped gyms and lap pools. If you love the nightlife, you may want to rent a condo near the city centre. Bear in mind that condos with more facilities and closer to more amenities will cost more.
