Dear Sir/Mdm,
Apparently sad to say that you are right that some real estate salespersons (RES) are still doing such stuff. Not to mention buyers like yourself, even us as RES, we are also very frustrated. While a lot of us are trying to uphold the reputation of the industry, there are also many who are upsetting the consumers.
If you ever encounter such cases, maybe you can call them to ask them why is it so and see what answers they have for you. If you wish to complain against them, you can lodge an official complaint to Council of Estate Agents (CEA). If they show you an unit that is totally different from their advertisements, then it is considered misrepresentation and that is not permissible under the rules of CEA.
Meanwhile, while you are searching for your house, do try not to be too upset from all these. I always tell my clients that a property transaction is actually a very fun journey and we should aim to keep it that way!
