I am deciding wether to buy a condo or resale hdb. I want to understand the cash above valuation which is asked by the seller. Isn't it that the home renovation and upgrades are already included in the valuation price? Because of the high CAV which cant be loaned to banks, buying a condo is sometimes more reasonably priced. Please enlighten me.

Hi, I'm currently looking to buy a home for me and my wife. I'm wondering whats the pros and cons of getting an EC vs a private condo? Also, is it a good time to buy or should i wait somemore. I'm primarily looking at Simei / Tampines / Pasir Ris area. My budget would be somewhere between 600-650k. I welcome all suggestions and ideas. Thank you

Business Times reported that private home prices CAME down and more so in view of the economic market in USA. Does it mean that the Singapore market can still be shielded from the sub prime market in uSA or is it that our banks are NOT at all affected? The reason for my question is that all owners seem to be asking ridiculous prices despite bad market conditions like in Mt Sinai asking for over S$2 million and no takers.

Currently a foreigner staying in Singapore , renting a HDB apartment with my wife. Looking to purcharse a private apartment for own usage within the next 6-12months. Current criteria include: 1) 2-3 bedrooms 2) >1100 sqft 3) budget: <750000 4) FREEHOLD, 999 year 5) near amenities (schools, MRT, eateries etc) 6) preferably new , recent TOP (good condition) 7) district 12-14, 15-16, 19-20. Will entertain 21-28 if appropriate. First home, so understandably cautious especially with current up-and-down market. Thank you, please post a reply if you have any good advice / units suitable. Hi, I'm interested in purchasing a freehold private apartment or condo (preferably) at a price range of about 800k around balestier or novena. I'm a PR and have cash ready for downpayment. But i'm not familiar with the procedure of purchasing a home and the cost involved. Please advise in details as my target purchase date is before the end of 2008, which is quite soon.

Possible to get a condo in the west walking distance to MRT, 110sqm, 3 bedrooms @ S$600K? I will pay S$180K CPF, $300K home loan and S$120K by CASH. I will settle S$300K home loan by CPF once I sell my existing HDB? Any advise from he experts on the payment please? Thank you

I have some questions with regards to owning a condo. Me and my fiancee are getting married next year and we are seeking for a home. We are considering purchasing a condo but since we are first timers, we need some pointers. Supposing the purchase price of the condo is $540k, how do we go from here? ie, whats the ideal amount we need to pay by cash and by cpf? And what other costs we need to take into consideration?
