Why compromise? Since you know that you need to pay commission, in one way or another, why not engage your own salesperson to assist you for the hunt? In this manner, he will be able to understand your requirement, financial status and assist you on the required documentation.

First of all, as a direct buyer, you need not pay any commission.

From what i gather, i presume you have already offered and agreed on the price with the seller. Now the seller's agent is recommending his partner to represent you to help with the paperwork?

If i were you, i won't pay a single cent and rather DIY everything myself. Since the price has been agreed, why do you need to pay to the partner since he/she never help you with viewing arrangement/price negotiation?

If you really need an agent to help you, i would rather you engage your own agent, rather than use the 'recommended' partner.
