We sold our HDB,bought a Condo. We had appointed one agent for both deals. We found the condo in April.the seller wanted an extended stay for 3 mnths after completion.we agreed, signed an informal tenancy agreement. We agreed for the extension as our agent promised to set our HDB completion date accordingly.Condo completion is over on July 6th.when we went for our HDB first appointment on 17th june our agent informed us buyer of HDB has agreed for extension of stay till oct.we fixed 2nd appointment 15th august. Now on 30th July my buyer came to check something he asked when we r moving out.we said about our extension.he said he is not aware of tht and wants us to move out on aug 15th.we r literally shocked.our Agent is not traceable, cannot find him.contacted his company, they just provided the mobile number. We cannot rent a place in 1 week tht too with our furniture. Can i ask my Condo seller to move out as its only a document not a stamped tenancy?can we reschedule second HDB appointment?

Afternoon Lisa,

Your agent should not have disappeared as you should not have paid him the commission for the purchase. You should try to get him to assist.
In the eye of the law, for HDB, upon completion, the owner is suppose to vacate the unit and hand it over. With agreement from both the buyer and seller, you can postpone your HDB completion date.
As for the private property, as an agreement have being inked, whether stamped or not, your seller have the right to stay put, though you have your rights to chase them out too.
This would depends on who blink first.

Whatever the case is, since you choose that agent to assist you, you should always go back to him when you need assistance. Otherwise, you can choose to bring the case up to CEA.
