Read in the forum that the 15 month waitout period applies if taking hdb loan or cpf grant. If i do not intend to take hdb loan or cpf grant, am i then allow to purchase a resale hdb right after the sale of my private property?

The only exception for private property owners downgrading to HDB is that if they are age 55 years old or above purchasing a resale 4 room or smaller unit.

All other scenarios, the 15 months wait out period applies and you will not be eligible for taking HDB loan and applying for housing grants.

Only private owners who are 55 years old and above are eligible to buy resale HDB up to 4RM after disposal of private property without wait out period.

Hi

The regulation is such that if the private property owners are 55 years old and above, they can purchase resale 4-room HDB size and below immediately after selling the private property, with no waiting period. If either owner is below 55 years old, need to wait out 15 months after selling private property before eligible to purchase resale HDB.

Whether you take grants or hdb loan is not important. It depends on the age and also the hdb type you are buying.

The 15 months wait out period is compulsory for all private property owners regardless of whether you are taking a HDB loan or CPF grant. However, if you and your spouse are both above the age of 55 years old and are buying a 4 room or smaller flat, then the 15 months period is not applicable.
