Thanks for posting in PropertyGuru and congrats on your son's overseas studies!

Seriously it may be difficult for us to advise you in terms of the Australian property rental procedures. It may be good if you could drop an email to Monash and see if they could give some advice or even recommend a property agent to you.

For your HDB unit, the only good arrangement that we are looking at here, will be to rent out your unit unless you're ok to just leave it empty until you come back. If you want to rent out your unit, then we will also need to check whether have you already completed the Minimum Occupation Period. If yes, then it will be perfect. If not, then we may have to appeal.

If you want to leave it vacant until you come back., then maybe you can get a trusted friend or relative to check on your house periodically or maybe can also explore having a part time maid to go up periodically to clean your place.
