My landlord did not clean the unit, service the aircon or clean the curtains when handing the unit over to me, even though these were specified in the LOI. So they technically violated the LOI but I had no choice but to move in or be homeless.
There has been many issues with the unit since that I took care of and repaired with the landlord's knowledge and consent. I also serviced the aircon regularly throughout my stay and always keep the unit clean and in good condition.
Now the landlord is asking that I clean the unit, service the aircon and clean the curtains before handover even though these are not stipulated in the LOI or TA. So I do not have a legal obligation to do these upon moving out. However, I am concerned that given their unscrupulous nature, that they may dock my security deposit and that I will need to take things to court. Any advice?
