My BF is currently holding a SP and I am a SC. We are planning to settle down. Do we need to get married first to get a house? or we can get the house and ROM within 6 months?

Are there any limit on what kind of house we can get? we are actually looking at Resale in Serangoon area.

Hi,

If you're referring to a HDB flat, yes you will need to form a family nucleus for the purchase. You need to either get married before you purchase, or the purchase under fiance/fiancee scheme.

If you're looking at private properties, then there is no restriction on marriage.

Good afternoon buyer,

you are only eligible to purchase under non citizen spouse scheme because your fiance is a foreigner.

In order to be qualify, both of you have to get married first. You are unable to purchase a resale HDB first and show proof of marriage within 3 months as per fiance/ fiancee scheme because he is not minimum a SPR.

Do take note only your income will be taken into consideration for loan assessment.

Hi,

1) You need to be able to produce marriage cert when submitting resale application.

2) You do not need to pay ABSD for the purchase.

3) You shall be the sole owner of the flat.

4) Your BF can assist in financing the flat using cash only.

5) In order to use minimum cash, you have the alternative to use HDB housing loan although the interest rate is higher than bank.
a) 10% downpayment can use all CPF, and loan 90% if your income permit.
b) You may apply for grant (up to $25k) but this shall dependent on individual circumstances if your're 1st timer; some cases might not be advisable to apply although it assist on reducing your loan.
c) Grant amount can be counted in for downpayment.
