If you are SC and HDB is more than 5 years, yes you can stay in one and rent out either hdb or condo, not an issue.

Hi Lilian,

The minimum occupation period of a HDB is 5 years from the date of purchase. Once you have fulfil these 5 years, you may rent out the unit completely. It will make more financial sense for you to rent out the whole unit instead of doing room rental in the long run. Renting out the whole unit is also more hassle free for you.
