Dear sir,
Haha I have to say you are quite sharp. Yes there is a chance that you will incur more property tax. The reason is because since your name is added into your wife's HDB, then they will take it that you are staying in the HDB and not the condo. So if that happens, then you will be charged a property tax of 10% of your house annual value instead of the subsidised rate of 4%.
There is another issue that we need to address here and that is how long have your wife owned her HDB. Because there might also be a chance that you may need to sell away your condo due to the rules and restrictions. What I can suggest is that probably you can give me a call or maybe we can meet up for a coffee and I can discuss this with you to see if I can provide some solutions for you. The reason is because there can be a few permutations to the solutions and which solution to propose to you will really depend on your exact situation.
I have been in this business for a decade and I have always pride myself to be someone who always places my clients' interests at heart. I believe that I will definitely be able to provide some proper solutions to you. Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Best Regards,
Jeffrey Heng
