You are right, but why would you want to do so? Having her name in this property would subject her to ABSD if there is future plans to own a 2nd property for passive income based on current regulations. Do plan such a move carefully.     Hi, many thanks for the advice, this one is our second condo property, which we were lucky to get before the ABSD came into force. Our first property is paid for and her cpf (if we can use it as a lump some) would pay off this property also. I am about to call the cpf hotline and ask what is the minimum percentage I have to transfer into her ownership.

If this is a part sale to her, she will also be subjected to ABSD in this instance. Would it be better off to consider other forms of investments instead with the CPF available? Clearing the loan for the existing property will no doubt better position both of you for the next loan, but will be subjected to even higher ABSD for subsequent purchases which I feel make no sense to be paying the this amount. If you have future plans to make for further investments, perhaps there could be a better way out? You may wish to explore with a banker in this instance to find out is there a better way out to manage this.
