I'm PR and thinking of buying hdb soon. My question is if i have a lot property outside Singapore, do i still need to sell it or dispatch? it's just a piece of land.

Hi John,

I do understand your concern but under HDB regulations,
you have to dispose any private property (including land overseas) within 6 months after completion of purchase of resale flat.

You either sell it off/ transfer the rights to your relatives in overseas within the 6 months after purchase completion.

Hi John,

Yes, you will have to dispose your overseas property within 6 months after purchase completion.

ALternatively, you may consider buying a private condo, which will not have restriction for your overseas property.

Morning John,

In the local context, land is also considered as real property. As long as it's under your name, you will have to either sell it off and transfer the ownership to someone else.
