I have an issue, with room, i saw the room it was bit dirty and the agent said landlord will renovate and clean the room, i move in 04 dec 2017,room is not hygine, lot of issue in the room can see cockroaches,room is dirty, bad smell is coming when open fridge, toilet is not clean and they are saying its clean.when I talk to agent and landlord they are saying previous tenant was giving rent of $800 per month and they give me for $650, I ask them to find new tenant and keep rent for 2 days, I am ready to move out in 2 days, but agent is saying you wont get back the money.. please suggest how i can proceed with this issue...

Hi Pradeep,

I feel sorry about your current state. But this is a norm for DIY transaction. As the sales agent has a fiduciary duty towards their client, and thus will only act upon their client interest, not yours.

Technically speaking, there is nothing you can do but to move on.
Alternatively, negotiate a better deal that both parties can accept.
