I have a few questions as someone I knew rushed into a rental agreement and is now left clueless as the agreement is ending. The tenants are asking for the 1-month deposit however half was "absorbed" by the agent as his/her commission.
1) For a room rental of $750 a month, is half of the 1-month deposit the tenants paid "absorbed" by the agent as the agent's commission?
2) The commission should be paid separately right
3) Should the cash have been passed to the agent directly or a crossed cheque to the agent's agency instead?
