Hi,

Hmm to be borrower (ie. mortgagor) of property, you must also be the owner. Hence after selling 1% away, you can no longer be the mortgagor. If you have sufficient funds to fully pay the first property, the idea may be workable.

Or perhaps may I have more info so to structure a deal that meets your objectives? May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Hi Sir,

To be able to secure a loan for the property, you will need to be the owner of the property. Hence, should you remove your 1% share in the first property, you will not be able to take a loan for the property under your name. Your wife will have to undertake the loan.

Having said that, there are other ways for your homemaker wife to secure a loan. Do get in touch with me for further discussion.

To be a borrower of the loan, you will need to be one of the owners as well. In such an arrangement, you will not be able to decouple and save on the ABSD unless you finish paying the loan for the 1st property.

Hi;

As mentioned by the gurus here, you wont be able to take a loan for the property once you remove your name from it. However, there are other ways to secure a loan for your wife even though she is not working. But also need to see the amount that you are looking at, otherwise it may not be feasible to do decoupling. So you might want to do your proper planning first before executing. Hope this helps..
