Dear tenant,

Purely deduced from what you have described above without knowing the actual conversation between yourself and the salespersons involved, I would think that you have been set up to pay the commission. Nevertheless, it is good to speak to the salesperson involved to sort out this issue and understand the situation better before you decide whether to proceed with taking up the rent or not.

Hi,

before we jump to conclusion...

How much was the rent ?

In general, Tenants Need not pay commission.

However, if the rent is below $3000, it is common practice that tenant pays comm to the agent that serves him.

Perhaps you might want to tell us, what is the rent you are paying, before we decide if you have been set up.
