I am a Singapore PR, whose PR is expiring soon. I have SGD 1 million in my CPF, and would like to buy a property about 900K. I am currently retired and my spouse is working as a lecturer in Malaysia (annual pay about RM70K). Would I (and not my spouse) qualify for a bank loan of 30-50% of the property?

Hi Patrick,

If you do not intend to extend PR i would advise you to get the property soon so as to avoid paying more ABSD (additional buyer stamp duty)

Foreigner status: 15+3%
PR status: 5+3% (1st ppty) 10+3% (2nd ppty)

If you have supporting payslips from overseas, you might be able to secure loan from 30-50%. Please contact me so i can arrange for a experienced banker to serve you.

I have closed several cases with foreign buyers so as long as you can provide documents, you should be able to obtain a loan locally. It should be a breeze for you purchasing a unit.
