Hi,we are looking to sell our current flat with outstanding HDB loan of about $90k and looking for an EC.We bought the flat from HDB at about $200k and all the payments to date are all using CPF together with my wife.If we were to sell off our flat at $500k,how much estimated can i get back(Cash+CPF) less the CPF interest?Can all the amount in cash and CPF we get back be used to dump into our new EC?or do we need to set aside a min amount in our CPF account? Thank you very much.

Morning Marc,

By selling your HDB unit to purchase new EC, have you considered alternative accomodation during the waiting period?

To calculate your cash profit and amount of CPF + interest that will be credited back into your account, I would need to gather more figures from you.

As for the CPF minimum sum, it's only required if you are purchasing second property which utilize CPF as mode of payment or when you have reached the aged of 55.

Hi Marc,

To calculate your proceeds, we will need to first establish what is your outstanding loan amount as well as the CPF utilised for your current place with interest. Thereafter, we will need to look into if you need to pay any additional fees like upgrading costs for our estate and etc. You may actually do these calculation yourself at HDB website. As for retaining a minimum sum in your CPF, Mike has already explained the criteria to observe.
