Thank you for your enquiry. The current commission rate for most agents is about 1-2% and you will only have to pay the agent you engage (seller agent in this case since you are selling).

You can engage an exclusive agent or make your unit an open listing where different groups of agents are allowed to market and sell your unit. Unlike how it sounds, having multiple agents from different groups marketing your unit might not yield the optimal result.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

I have assisted many of my clients who are in the same situation as yourself, selling their current flat to move to a new BTO flat. I have just helped an owner to get a record high price and also an extension of stay. In this way, he is able to renovate the BTO and move from his current place to the new place without the need for an interim housing solution.

You will only need to pay the seller's agent and it is advisable to engage an experienced agent with a strong track record so that you are able to achieve the highest possible price for your unit. Having more than 1 agent often result in a situation when the agents are more interested in closing the deal as compared to fighting for a good price for you.

You need not pay the buyers agent .

As you're moving into your BTO flat, you only need to pay the agent for the selling of your current flat.

Market rate for selling HDB flat is 2%. Commission is not fixed and is to be mutually agreed upon.

Too many cooks spoil the broth. It is advisable to engage just 1 agent to act for your interest, especially if you have a certain price expectations.
