Sorry to hear about the situation, I hope you are managing well. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase resale flat on your sole name, but in the event the divorce proceedings is completed, you may wish to consider to purchase with the parent who will have legal care and custody of you.

Hi,

1) You are not eligible to buy on your own now since you are below 35 yrs old. There is no other option to buy as a single.
2) You may have to choose to stay with either one of your parents for the time being as an occupier.
3) Alternatively you may submit a joint applicant with one of them as an owner.
4) (2) will allow you to buy your home in the future without any hiccups, (3) will give you some problems if your parent is unable to buy over your share when you buy your own later.
5) Moreover, if you are already over 30 you will have to delay your own purchase later because of the need to fulfilling the MOP of the purchased flat.

By the way, you can’t purchase a HDB flat by yourself as you are below 35 years of age. But you may join the name with one of your parents under the custody and to purchase a resale flat.

Will your parents be open to consider allowing the other party to take over the property in this case, and you can be a joint owner in this case to service the home loan if it is required? Given that singles below 35 is ineligible to purchase a HDB, joining together with 1 of your parent will allow you to retain this flat as a co-owner.
