Hi,

Once you form a family nucleus to apply for the EC (husband-wife), she has to sell her current hdb since she is the owner. Ideally its to withdraw her name from the hdb first but her parents must be able to fund and return the cpf utilized by her for the flat.

Yes you can use your full cpf OA to pay for the EC, subject to valuation limits.

Good morning buyer,

I am afraid to inform you that she has to withdraw her name from her current HDB be it she will be an owner or occupier in the EC application. Do take note that by doing so, her parents must be able to refund the CPF OA funds that she had paid to her.

If her parents are not financially capable of doing so, probably you can consider selling off the flat and purchase a dual key EC with her parents under multi generation scheme.

In regards to utilisation of CPF OA funds, you are able to use all your CPF OA funds as you dont have to set aside a minimum sum because this will be your first property.

1. You wife is considered a HDB owner and therefore will not be able to purchase an EC with you unless she were to remove her name from the current HDB.

2. It depends on your age. If you are below the age of 55, you will be able to utilised the CPF amount fully. However, if you are over the age of 55, you will only be able to utilised only 50% of your minimum sum amount.
