Hi I am looking to sell my current 3rm flat (bought as resale, Bank Loan) and get a 4 room BTO/SBF (never utilised any HDB loan)..am I considered a second timer and need to pay resale levy? Can I proceed to apply for BTO/SBF while still owning the current flat or must I sell first then I'm eligible?

Hi,

As long as you are SC and have met the MOP of 5 years, you can go ahead to apply BTO first without selling. If you didn't receive grant for your 3-rm and its not subsidized, you will not need to pay levy.

Hi,
Once you met the 5 years MOP, You are eligible to apply for BTO, If you haven not taken any grant for your resale flat, there isnt any resale levy also. You can sell when your BTO is ready for key collection.

Have you fulfill the minimum occupation period?

If yes, you are eligible to apply for BTO/ SBF.

By the way, did you obtain any housing grant for your current flat?

If no, you will still be considered as first timer for your BTO/ SBF application.

Do you have sufficient funds for the purchase?

If yes, you just have to sell current flat within 6 months from key collection of BTO/ SBF.
