Hi
I am interested in buying my own place in Singapore. Given I am a foreigner, I can only buy private condo's. My intention is to rent the property out until such time I can spend more time with my family in singapore.
I have done some research of my own but I am still confuse/unsure. Can you please help me with the following questions:
- I have contacted a bank in singapore and I was told that I can only borrow (mortgage) up to 60% (of the property value) but I have read other banks website that a foreigners can borrow up to 80%. Is it 60% or 80%? and which banks are more foreigner friendly?
- I have read on alot of blogs that recommend district 1 - 9 and 15 and 16 but they are the premium district (or expat areas). Given, I am looking for a rental now, and potential my home in the future. Which other districts should I investigate? I am looking for an areas where I am close to most amenities and great for a family.
Thanks in advance
Alex
