Asked by Arn Shuman
HI,
I am Europen Union citizen (German) and have been working in SINGAPORE for the last 4 years and thought about buying a condo (max. 800-1.000 S$, min. 3bedroom) as an investment.
I might be posted back to Europe in 2011, so wanted to leave an investment in Singapore (ideally already rented out).
TWO QUESTIONS:
I am not PR - does it make a difference? I still could apply if advantageous. Please clarify.
Given I buy a condo, is there a property tax that applies if I am a non resident (different if PR?)?
And how is the income from rent taxed once I move away and this would be my only income in Singapore (as non resident or PR, any difference)?
Thanks,
Arn
