Hi Gurus,

I'm planning to buy a 3bdr unit at Stirling Residences for own stay. I would like to gather some input from the gurus here, what do you all think of the potential capital appreciation and the exit strategy in e future? Only concern is, the developer doesn't seem to have much exp in local housing. What do you all think of this project overall?

Hi Sir/Mdm,

Actually we are currently helping one of our clients with their purchase in Stirling Residences. Due to the location of the property as well as the diversity of the unit mix, this property is indeed good for both own stay and investment. In fact this development attracted my client so deeply they are making the property purchase even when they are currently residing in USA.

What I can suggest is that we can actually meet up for a chat on this and I can share with you the pros and cons of the project. I really need to apologise that it is really not very convenient to share such views on public media like this. Hope you can understand. No worries as there are no obligations to the meetup. In my opinion, purchasing a property for own stay or for investment, there are very different sets of criteria to look out for.

If you're looking to purchase a property for your own stay, I think the convenience the property can bring to you outweighs it's investment potential. The proximity to the places you and your family frequent, the amenities you get to enjoy etc. Some important factors you should consider would be proxity to your children's school, parents place, or even your work place.

Whereas if you're buying for investment, it will be just about the figures. How much can this property be rented out? What is the potential upside based on your entry price? What is your exit strategy? These could be some questions you ask yourself.

Everyone's needs can be very different as we are all unique. What seems like a good buy to someone, may not necessary be for you. Hence, I think only you will know if Sterling Residence can cater to your primary needs.

Also, if you're paying ABSD for this purchase, I may have a suggestion for you to consider. Let's take this discussion further.
