Hi Rina,
Each Singapore Citizen is only allowed 1 HDB grant for a resale HDB, and taking this option the buyer is also deemed to treat it as a new/ direct HDB flat. Buying a 2nd resale generally can be any type, but if you are planning to take HDB Loan, the next purchase has always to be a size upgrade, i.e. to a bigger unit (i.e. from 4room to 5 room). If you plan to buy a new/ direct from HDB the next purchase, you are required to pay the resale levy on the 1st flat. This may not be the case if you have not taken the HDB grant for the first flat.
