Hi Jason, Think of it, if the existing tenant decides not to renew the lease, would you be moving into the unit and rent out/sell your existing place or seek new tenant for your purchased unit? Under both circumstances, perhaps you may also be paying out service fees therefore in this scenario, although the renewal was done by without the notice of the salesperson 3 months before renewal, you do have a case. However, it will be good to read the tenancy agreement to check when should the renewal intentions be made as my understanding is that it should be done 2 months before the expiry, therefore it could be a reason why the existing salesperson was not there when renewal was done.
