Current HDB purchased under spouse's name, i am the occupier. HDB ownership excluded my name so to use my name to get a private property. Can i buy private property immediately ? Or need to wait for 5-year MOP ? If need to wait, does the 5-year MOP start from when spouse bought HDB or when i joined as occupier ?

Hi,

Since your name is added as occupier, you need to fulfill the 5 year MOP before you are eligible to purchase private property. If I am not wrong, it should be counting from the date she becomes the legal owner, not when your name is added.

You may want to write in to HDB branch to confirm both items, whether you can purchase private property now, and if not, when will the MOP expire.
