In the recent years, District 4 has undergone great changes and development, making it one of the most vibrant areas in Singapore that has attracted thousands of visitors annually. Key places in District 4 include the sprawling Vivocity shopping centre and the island entertainment getaway Sentosa and Universal Studios. The area also acquires a rich history of international trade and has Tanjong Pagar Port, one of the busiest ports in Asia. The waterfront living and beautiful views of the Strait of Singapore have appealed to many prospective property buyers, making District 4 a coveted residential enclave. The district is also popular because of its central location and accessibility to top notch leisure places like the aforementioned Resorts World Sentosa, Vivocity and Mount Faber. Prime homes on Sentosa Island and Harbourfront comprise 60 percent of the 6,300 units in the vicinity. The closeness of projects in Sentosa and Harbourfront to the sea indicates they command a price premium over other developments in the vicinity. For example, average prices of homes at the Marina Collection on Sentosa are about $2,900 per sq ft, while units at Corals at Keppel Bay are being sold for about $2,000 psf. Within Harbourfront, the former World Trade Centre was re-launched as Harbourfront Centre that also made way for Vivocity, Singapore’s largest retail and lifestyle destination. Visitors can also commute conveniently to Sentosa via the monorail link from Vivocity. In addition to the Harbourfront Office Park, is a 6-storey office building now known as the Harbourfront Merrill Lynch that is now entirely occupied by the American bank Merrill Lynch. Another key location to visit within District 4 is the Henderson Waves Bridge that connects Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park. This is a key architectural structure in Singapore that forms part of the Southern Ridges, a beautiful trail in a lush open space that connects the hills of Mount Faber Park,
