District 5 which covers Clementi New town, Buona Vista and West Coast has most often than not been perceived as the most elusive region of Singapore. Today, you could easily find the finest institutions coupled with interesting places to spend your leisure time within District 5. A wide array of property types can also be found here, with 2 recent residential launches, Village @ Pasir Panjang and Whitehaven, therefore revealing the great prospects that District 5 brings. Buona Vista could be considered the busiest part of District 5, with a wide array of commercial buildings and amenities. Within this area, the Civil Service College, Ministry of Education Headquarters and One-North are located. Reputable schools such as the Anglo-Chinese Junior College and Tanglin Trust School are also located in Buona Vista. Recently Buona Vista has been an increasingly popular place to hang out, with the newly developed “The Star Vista” shopping mall which is envisioned as a “futuristic complex with restaurants”. Clementi New Town is abounded with a wide variety of amenities catered to the average Singaporean. This is due to the many Housing Board development (HDB) apartments that have sprung up within the area over the years. Such amenities and facilities include the Clementi Stadium, Clementi Swimming Complex, Clementi Community Club and the Clementi Woods Park. Clementi is also a location known for a considerable number of reputable schools and institutions that includes NUS High School, The National University of Singapore, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic. To the far West of the district, West Coast is comparatively less busy; with few amenities in the vicinity of the residential buildings that includes the West Coast shopping Mall and the Clementi West Market.
