"Derrick was my agent when we wanted to get a 2nd property. We were not exactly sure of the property rulings at that time and what we had to look out for.
He very patiently explained what we had to take note e.g ABSD, and how we could possibly minimize what we had to fork out in cash. He helped us to work out what our financial obligations were as well and whether the property we wanted to buy had any potential future gains.

"Being part of the general working class in Singapore; with an earnings of an average income from a typical engineering degree, purchasing a new BTO flat seems like the most logical direction to go to after marriage. Hence naturally, having the thoughts of purchasing a EC or Condo unit was never in my wishlist as I thought that they are only for the rich.
However, after meeting Derrick and sharing with him my current state and financial standing as i was the sole contributor of CPF for the BTO and the pain of forking up extra cash as my wife is self employed, I was actually surprised that in fact it is very possible for my to afford and own a private property in time to come.
He explained in detailed on the advantages and disadvantages of owning a HDB and holding it for long period of time, and the advantage of how we should use different financing tools to aide us in different circumstances.
I was surprised that I can actually afford an EC which is of better value and growth in future as compared to my current BTO and at the same time have a substantial amount in terms of savings in case anything happens to me.
