Peaceful Place

Posted by Satisfied on May 10, 2012

I have lived here coming to 5 years. Very safe environment and good neighbors. My facing is North so not so much sun and no car noise and no common area noise. I believe these noises are common in all condo so do not buy any unit facing common area, game pitches and even swimming pool. Get a higher floor is a safe bet. I give a credit to the management as every year we are given at least 1 month rebate and progressive upgrading is being carried out as well. Coming project is a new front gate and security post which definately will give a facelift to the current image of parkview.
I recommend this building for: Outdoors & Activities, Families with Children, Peace & Quiet, Students, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

Noisy

Posted by Tenant in Parkview Apt. on Jan 18, 2012

Have been living here for a year as a tenant, pool view.

Super noisy!! The noise from the school announcement is just a piece of cake.

The noise created from the residences is much more annoying.

Shouting, screaming, crying, honestly everyday, from kids playing, which most people bear with it because you can't blame the kids.

Annoying noise from adults, having parties at the BBQ and pool area, drinking, talking and shouting at each other for fun out loud non-stop till wee hours. Not everyday, but very often.

Students at home want to study but must "tahan" the noise.

If any buyer really wants to buy a unit at parkview apt, better avoid "pool view" my sincere advice.

Another thing that is unreasonable here is, you pay for condo management every month, but when you want to use condo facilities, you must also pay, for example, BBQ pit $30 with $100 deposit.

It's insane in my personal opinion.

The Real Story

Posted by Alan Lai on Mar 30, 2011

Hi All. I have been living in Parkview Apartments since day one. Here's the real story. During construction of the Condo, the construction company that Far East engaged ran into trouble with the construction budget. Work on the condo stopped for a few months. Afterwhich, Far East re-tendered the project and each tower had a different construction company working on it. Therefore, today, you will find numerous defects around the condo. However, the current management is trying their best to fix up all the defects, pipe burstage and power outages.

The units in twr 2 & 3 facing the greenary are the best. All other units will be facing the school, pool, tennis courts and bbq pits which are very noisy.

I bought my 1119sq ft unit during the 1990s launch period for 750K+. Thus in today's market, I can safely say 700-850K for a 1119-1200 sq ft unit is a great deal.

Paying above 900K will be a definately NO as the property is leasehold and is aging pretty fast. Coupled with all the defacts from day one, the sinking fund will be depleted in no time.

Problems

Posted by Chang on Mar 29, 2011

Went viewing.
Very noisy. Cannot stand it. Not well maintained.
I heard that there were some kind of leaks or something to do with repair when it was first launched. Can someone help verify.

Nice and windy...and worth

Posted by Alex on Jan 21, 2011

I bought my unit in 2007,-its a nice unit where it away from the tennis court, BBQ PIT, main road or the school.
I have magnificent view of the sky from both my living room and “super size” master-room. It’s very windy most of the day.
It takes me 10mins to reach Clementi or Batik Batok MRT by bus. I can do my shopping at IMM , new clementi mall, or the west mall. In additional, there is a nearby wet market for my weekend needs.(walking distance)and there is a newly renovated Kopi thiam which going to operates on 24/7 behind our Project.( 5 mins walk). Any car lover can drop to Autobacs which located just 5mins drives.
The project managed has input a lot of efforts to make the project changes like recently they had a new tennis court flooring changed, create new mini soccer court, changed all the pools tables and chairs. They have also improved the garden with new plants which makes the place more greenery and nice.-its gives a tropic feeling whenever at the pool.

If parents looking primary school, KEMING is just nearby.
if not, Nan Hua will be 10mins drive away.

Its definitely worth my money to buy this unit at this project.

Finally...

Posted by John Ng on Nov 24, 2010

I finally found a wonderful place for my family. After searching around Singapore for more than a year, we stumbled upon Parkview. The reasonable psf as compared to the other Condos around the vicinity was what really made us purchase a unit at Parkview. We got a unit on a high floor to enjoy the breeze and beautiful greenary.

Good Reviews.

Posted by Emelyn on Oct 27, 2010

Still hunting for a unit at Parkview. Have been reading all the reviews about the Condo. Agreed with most of them, except that those unit on low floors and facing the swimming pools, tennis courts and BBQ pits were pretty noisy during our viewings. Love to get a higher floor and facing the surrounding greenary. Hope to find a nice unit soon.

Lovely Condo!

Posted by Adeline Huang on Oct 17, 2010

Initially rented a unit at Parkview Apartments. Me and my hubby love the condo so much, that we decided to purchase a unit for our own. Just moved in 2 months ago, love the place. The facilities just got an upgrade - brand new tennis courts. Also, it's so near Clementi Central by Bus and IMM. Easy to do my shopping. Come join us at Parkview.

Great Place. Peaceful.

Posted by Eric Tan on Oct 14, 2010

Have been staying for 2 years. Love the place. Very peaceful, despite the small (2 lanes) roads by the Condo. Very accessible to PIE and AYE. Drive to town in 10-15 mins. Incinerator at Ulu Pandan also no longer operating. Heard might be building MRT station there since the MRT depot is already located there. School is not noisy, but units facing it might get some day time noises. Weekends all quiet. Well recommended for all.

Good Buy

Posted by Happy Resident on Oct 13, 2010

Moved into a unit 4 months ago.

Was initially apprehensive about the small kitchen, having lived in a flat with a kitchen which is almost double its size. Am now very comfortable with the kitchen as there's less to clean and wash.

Good size maid/storeroom and with proper racking, can store loads of stuff.

Love the basement carpark as I have visited other condos without basement carpark and realised that it is a real hassle when it rains.

Bus services are adequate to get us to many parts of Singapore.

Small and noisy

Posted by Disappointed on Sep 30, 2010

You can hear the traffic and the noise from the swimming pool area, children shouting in the condo as well as some came from nearby school!

Facilities are ok. Most condos got swimming pool, gym...
I don't think it is that special.

Small kitchen with a tiny store room and service balcony! Housewife's nightmare...

To buy some groceries and get a bite at Kopitiam, you have to walk with many bags in your hands to HDB area!! When it rains, you will find it more difficult.

Outstanding Condo. Well Recommended.

Posted by Edwin Han on Feb 8, 2010

Just bought a unit at Parkview Condo. Very impress with my purchase. Facilities and surroundings were recently upgraded. Quiet and yet very accessible to nearby schools, markets, petrol stations and food centres. Furthermore, the management staffs are very approachable. Helped me along during my recent renovation works. Security guards are also very alert. Seen numerous illegally parked cars being clamped and there is a guard being stationed at every entrance to the condo. Well recommended. Honestly, no regrets.

Quiet but yet easily accessible by bus

Posted by osydna on Nov 19, 2008

Very quiet specially if your unit is not facing the main road. Easily accessible by bus to Bukit Batok MRT and direct bus to Orchard or Suntec City. However, only have one food court within 10 -15 min walking distance. Small scale and basic facilities. Swimming pool, tennis court, sauna room, Gym. Property management staff is quite rude and show attitudes to tenants. Specially when you are moving out.
