Great project in a greater location

The previous post made by mm has many incorrect comments, which I would like to correct.

I recently visited a colleague at Oxford Suites, and I must say I am fairly impressed with this city fringe boutique development, which has the following plus points:

- There are several eating options nearby, namely the Pek Kio market and 2 famous Bak Ku Teh Shop all just a stone’s throw away.
- In addition, there are several shopping options, i.e. CitySquare Mall, Novena Square and United Square.
- There is a renowned primary school, i.e. St Joseph Institution (Primary).
- It has a tranquil environment despite being near to eateries.
- The nearest MRT station is not far away (was told it takes approximately 6 to 8 mins).

The most outstanding feature of this project has got to be the fact that this project is surrounded by low-rise projects (mostly <7 storeys), which makes Oxford Suites stand out literally as it is 18 storeys high.
I recommend this building for: City Living, Peace & Quiet, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

not a good area

Just personal point of view. yes the condo is near train station and some eateries but it's still not a very prestigious or homely place given that it's near the very busy little india. I believe it takes a while to even walk to any nearby nice eateries right? I remember seeing many ppl crowding around the MRT at that area at certain time or day of the week. Yes the condo might be located at a quieter corner but majority of buyers would look at the overall surrounding when considering purchase. we would like to know at that premium price we are paying for premium location or at least with good schools around, which i dont think there are any within 1 km. therefore if one is looking at significant capital appreciation after the current price might need to wait super long. unless you are already familiar with this area, (perhaps living nearby since young) or just looking for freehold near MRT... than this might b one of the choices.

Great Condo

With 60 units in all, Oxford Suites is a large enough development offering full facilities, yet boutique enough to boast a private feel.

Located in a great quiet neighborhood (I lived in that area for 10 years) near amenities, town, and now the MRT.

Good quality fittings and design, with key card access to units and facilities, and no bomb shelter in each unit!
I recommend this building for: City Living, Families with Children, Peace & Quiet, Luxury & Prestige, Students, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

Love It.

I wished I had bought a unit at Oxford Suites sooner. Prior to that, never paid much attention to the area before. Only set eyes on it sometime in Jan 2010. Was property hunting since mid 2009 and quickly found a comfortable and pretty condo in the East in Aug 2009 for my own stay.

Soon after, I continued to look at other properties. When I chanced upon Oxford Suites, I love the location right away. Something about the way it looks impressed me. In the end, I decided on a small unit for an investment and never looked back since. The facade looks great and the the plot may be relatively small but the space very adequately managed. The highlight lies with the spacious balcony with a functional layout. One look and I knew where everything ought to be. I just didn't care for the planter boxes which I subsequently decked over. Each time I was there to supervise the renovation, the place just grew and grew on me. The location and the amenities around really make such a difference. Yet, tucked away it felt quiet and private. My only regret is not having more funds for a larger unit. Having said that, I am completely satisfied with the purchase. Am still beaming whenever I think about it. It was snapped up for rental within 3 weeks of attaining the property. A week after the renovation was completed.

Never had the luxury of staying in a brand new property before and would have loved to be able to enjoy the brand new ambience. However, it makes economic sense hence I went with the flow. In my opinion, this place is ideal for owner occupation or for a sound rental yield. Still, I can't help but feel like kicking myself for not finding it sooner. I would have better leverage and optimize the options had it been the case.

60 units but 79 units for sale?

Meaning that most of the people don't stay there? I saw the total number of units are 60 but 79 are for sale? It is quite funny right?

Great location

When my agent first introduced this project (District 8, Little India) to me I was sceptical because of the location. My requirements are simple, I wanted my next home to be freehold, near town preferably 5mins drive to Orchard Road, 3mins walk to MRT and walking distance to hawker centre, several coffee shops and restaurants (jt in case, I get bore with the same food which is normally the case!). This project gives me all the above and most importantly at the price lower than those along Thomson Rd (transacted abt $1,300 - $1,500psf now).

Though located at District 8, Oxford Rd is away for the Indian community (no offence to my fellow Indian friends). And when I combed the area last week, I discovered the site next to MRT station is under construction and Connexion, Asia's first integrated hub for healthcare & wellness will be ready in 1-2 yrs time. This'll definitely increase the value of nearby projects.

If there's any downside of this project, it's probably the pool is too small but again I asked myself do I need a big pool or a project that value appreciate over time. My choice is obvious!!!

Now, I'm seriously considering buying my apartment at Oxford Suites and live in one of the famous area in Singapore!

Good Condo , Bad Valuation

Bankers' valuation for the units there are at most 990psf at this time while most eager Sellers and their agents are pricing their units out of comfortable range.
I recommend this building for: City Living, Peace & Quiet and Asian Expats.
