Bad quality
Posted by Jane on Jan 1, 2012
Building standards are poor with poor quality finishing. Well anywhere along River Valley is convenient for transportation. Although I find compared to the other areas of RV, One Jervois has a poorer transport link. 800m to Tiong Bahru is considerably far & a lot of people staying in HDBS would be using the same MRT. No offence but I dont think anyone would like to do that after paying so much. They would rather take a bus to Orchard then use the MRT.
Further up the same road & you can find other developments thats 500-600m away from Somerset MRT. The preferred transportation choice is clearer.
Not to mention, its located right next to a petrol station. I recommend this building for: Families with Children and Peace & Quiet.

Great views but bad quality.
Posted by Adrian on Dec 19, 2011
Lived her for twelve months but will not be renewing.
Standard of the build is extremely low. The building is less than two years old but appears much, much older. Cracks have appeared throughout the property and my doorframe fell out! The communal lift lobby areas are already in terrible condition and the kitchen is damp. Renters can get much better value for money elsewhere.
Large balconies are great with lovely view of Tanglin.
Don't agree with comments about transport links. Bus connections to central and Orchard are great. Very easy to get taxis because of the embassy and the nearby garage. I recommend this building for: Families with Children and Western Expats.

Excellent Facilities
Posted by marcus tan on Nov 12, 2011
One Jervois is a mid size development with ample facilities like clubhouse, pools and even tennis court. It is nestled near the serene GCB neighbourhood of Chatsworth and Bishopgate. Even though the quality of finishes may not match up to the price tag it commands now, renting out the unit appears to be quite easy. While there may be much complaints about the petrol stations beside it, you cannot deny the fact that this is a convenient location to stay at.
I recommend this building for:
City Living,
Outdoors & Activities,
Families with Children,
Peace & Quiet,
Luxury & Prestige,
Western Expats and
Asian Expats.

OJ - Great Convenience and Quiet
Posted by One Jervois on May 6, 2011
One Jervois, is a 'Boutiq' Condo with Full Facilities; only 270+ Units and pool is very nice. It is just five mins away to Orchard, City Hall and Raffles Place. More importantly, this development is very quiet, with many foreigners staying here. Up market, quiet and maintenance fee is very reasonable. Lastly, Price is at least 20% lower as compared to the new condos around River Valley. Moreover, it is Freehold and in the D10. For those who like city Living and yet like quietness.
I recommend this building for:
City Living,
Outdoors & Activities,
Families with Children,
Peace & Quiet,
Luxury & Prestige,
Western Expats and
Asian Expats.

We've looked at a lot of condo developments over the last couple of years, and have to say that this is one of the best ones we've seen. With less than 300 units it's not too large, but is big enough to have all the facilities that we would want (with the possible exception of a childrens' playground). Ground floor units seemed particularly nice, with lovely high ceilings.
The comments of earlier reviewers regarding transport links and road access appear misguided, as this is probably one of the most accessible developments we've found., The bus-stops very close by are served by 5 or 6 routes, there's an MRT station within walking distance, and it lies at the confluence of River Valley Road, Jervois Road, Lower Delta Road and Alexandra Road, providing lots of alternative routes into every part of the city for motorists. Jervois Road itself though seems fairly quiet, and we didn't notice any traffic noise during our visit.
The landscaping around the pool area could do with improvement, but that's a relatively minor matter to get right.
Other than the high ceilings, the room sizes are normal for this level of development, except that the master bedrooms we saw all had lovely bay window areas for sitting, which is not a feature we've seen elsewhere in our search for the perfect place. The kitchens are quite compact, but well equipped with built-in ovens, microwaves and a pretty good amount of storage. I recommend this building for: City Living, Families with Children, Peace & Quiet, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

Not luxurious, but comfy.
Posted by Nick on Sep 3, 2010
Hi Beatrice, Mick - I live in One Jervois and have to disagree with you on most points. First, Tiong Bahru MRT is only 800 meters away and redline MRT is just 3-4 bus stops away. Finding a taxi is NEVER a problem because many taxis fill up at the 2 nearby gas stations. And I would challenge you how many condos are there in Singapore that are less than 1km from nearest MRT station? Only a handful, and people are paying much steeper price for such location.
Traffic is a bit of an issue during evening rush hour, but only because of the traffic lights. During rush hour, I never have to spend more than 15 mins in the car to reach my husband's office near Raffles City. Coming from a city where I used to commute 2-3 hours each day for work, I can't really complain about 15 mins each way ...
We moved here because we like River Valley, but OJ is one of the few that is still within our budget. Everything else in the area is so much more expensive while location is not more advantageous ... they're either further from MRT, noisier, harder to get taxi, or no supermarket across the street.
I agree with you that I wouldn't categorize OJ as a premium development. But it's a comfy place in a comfy location, and I care far more about that than prestige. I recommend this building for: City Living, Families with Children and Peace & Quiet.

Facilities are badly designed
Posted by Beatrice on Mar 25, 2010
Interesting project, but only the view of big units facing the pool is good. The rest are not so cramp and with bad facing. Facilities are badly designed with the jacuzzi pool right at the entrance like some fish pond. The smell of petrol from the two nearby petrol station is also a put off. Not worth the premium price. Overall very cramp project. So far from MRT and the road towards the condo is so jam round 7pm. A nightmare and will be worse with more condo coming up along the narrow river valley road.
I recommend this building for:
Western Expats.

Price is a joke
Posted by Mick on Mar 23, 2010
I like the property by itself. But it is in no way, by a far shot, consider a premium development. The price should never be above 1100psf.
interior space, extrerior feel, material, finishing...it has above average written all over. I last check, price still holding, but noone is buying. I am not surprise. Flippers galore here. I recommend this building for: Peace & Quiet and Asian Expats.
