An oasis in Katong

We have been living at Malvern Springs for many years now and suprised by some of the negative reviews below. It is a very quiet condo and can only hear trickling water from the pool at night!
We have found it to be a lovely little condo development and the recent addition of 112 Katong mall has meant we are not likely to leave anytime soon! Who has a cinema, Din Tai Fung, Nandos and the best selection of local food on their doorstep?! btw the new management have recently undertaken extensive repairs which was bugging me and now we are all happy again. I recommend this building for: Outdoors & Activities, Peace & Quiet, Luxury & Prestige, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

Poor location & design

Location is near to Katong and eateries along East Coast. Other than this convenience, this building pose multitude of problems interm of privacy, ventilation and people noise pollution. See for yourself and visit more than once before u make a decision to buy or rent!
For penthouse lover, look elsewhere, this condo scores VERY LOW MARK for privacy I recommend this building for: Families with Children.

Fantastic Location

I've recently rented a place here and after 8 years of living in 5 different condos around Singapore I can safely say this place is fantastic.
Its low rise so means that the pool is not full of kids and it's super quiet at night. No construction projects can happen as all buildings around are conservation properties. Something I am soooo over in Singapore.
The apartment is well laid out and spacious. THE best thing is the location though. Its right in the heart of Katong so millions of places to eat. In a few months there will be a brand new mall with a cinema in it just 2 minutes walk away! I can also get buses from across the street to Clarke Quay, the CBD and Orchard Road - all approx 25 mins away. I recommend this building for: City Living, Outdoors & Activities, Families with Children, Peace & Quiet, Luxury & Prestige, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

maintenance poor

Malvern Springs is TOP 2004, but looks quite run down. Having a closer look into the gym and pool area you will notice poor maintenance, still ok to enjoy a swim. Definitely pros are the the restaurants and shops nearby, Express-bus to CBD, close to ECP. Property Management is slow or non-responding.
I recommend this building for:
Families with Children and
Western Expats.

cosy but tight

small cosy development with very nice layout of facilities. certain ground units are exceptionally well positioned with lotsa space for cloths drying and even a outdoor mini cafe of your own. However, the development is so tightly packed that privacy maybe an issue for some people. full glass facet...almost all are fully curtained up when i visit....sort of understand the privacy issue. Thus one may never enjoy the sunlight shining in through the full glass. small road access maybe a problem for some.
I recommend this building for:
Peace & Quiet,
Western Expats and
Asian Expats.
